A very nice place to chill out, ★★★★★5/5, August 2024

The house is located in a very beautiful place. Very clean with all the facilities, spacious bedrooms and kitchen/ living room. We weren’t lucky to see all the wildlife except the birds and the company of the red squirrel. We spent a lovely week with our friends and we had the access to beautiful landscapes and day trips around the area. Highly recommended.

Great Time, ★★★★★5/5, July 2024

Fantastic property in a relaxing location, ★★★★★5/5, February 2024

Property was comfortable and had everything you need, one of the best locations we have stayed for wildlife. Opened the curtains every morning to see red deer, red squirrels, spotted woodpecker and lots of birds. Lots of nice walking routes from the property as well. We will definitely be returning to this holiday let - cannot rate this property highly enough, amazing time had by the whole family.

The location was great with plenty of walks and bike rides from the door. Saw red squirrels in the garden along with woodpeckers, siskins and many other birds. Even had night time visits from Badgers. I am sure we will be back soon.

Sublime, ★★★★★5/5, May 2023

An absolute gem of a place if you like peace, biking endlessly from the door and fabulous wildlife. There’s plenty to do in the wider area, but we only got in our van once (paddle boarding on nearby Loch Insh) with so much biking access to Glen Feshie and it’s surrounding area. The owner was incredibly responsive and great to deal with too. Already booked to return.

Lovely welcome surprise and so much fun watching the local wildlife. Quiet location, yet very central for all the delights the cairngorms and speyside have to offer. Well appointed too. Loved our week here.

Great location, comfortable house,★★★★★5/5, August 2022

Great location, tranquil but not isolated. Many varied walks from the door allowed us to avoid using the car. Perfect if you are interested in wildlife as there were plenty of birds visiting the garden, not to mention red squirrels.

Very good stay, ★★★★★5/5, July 2022

Excellent property, in a fantastic location.

June 2022

Aonach cottage was comfortable and well equipped, ideally situated for both walking and wildlife enthusiasts. Red squirrels visited almost every day and an osprey was seen flying above the trees behind the cottage, with a good mix of birds coming to the feeders. Plenty of walking to be had for all abilities and the Cairngorms only a short drive away. The pine forest around the cottage gives this cottage a wonderful setting and I hope we get the opportunity to come back and stay in the future.

MAY BREAK, ★★★★★5/5, May 2022

This is a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is clean and welcoming and the kitchen very well stocked with everything you need for self catering. Dewi even popped round on the day of our arrival with extra dishwasher tablets and cloths which kind of sums it up perfectly! There are stunning walks from the cottage, both long and short, always back-dropped by stunning mountains and serenaded by birdsong. We will definitely be back!

Perfect location, ★★★★★5/5, May 2022

Wonderful location and excellent accommodation, ★★★★★5/5, April 2022

This is really an excellent cottage. It is spacious and well equipped and thought out. The heating is superb. Very comfortable and best of all quiet. Also it has red squirrels in the garden, a visiting badger and is in a great location for getting out walking. We loved it. Thank you.

An absolutely amazing and perfect place! ★★★★★5/5, March 2022

Aonach is just fabulous! From the moment we walked in, it felt homely and nothing like a holiday let! It's little touches like washing up liquid, handwash, cleaning spray and laundry essentials that make the difference. The kitchen was extremely well appointed and we weren't missing anything required to cook. DVDs, books and games are great for snowy days and blankets for those colder nights were welcomed as well. Although in the time we were at Aonach, it was never too cold as the heating is really quite efficient! Also, a bag of logs was a great start for the fire and as it was snowy and cold, we had great extra heat from that. Hot water is hot and plentiful as well and the wifi is more than adequate. Outside we saw red squirrels and the pheasant with his harem of females were present every day at the bird feeder, along with a variety of finches. The walks from the house are beautiful and the rest of the Cairngorms are in easy reach on the A9. Aviemore has Aldi and Tesco for most shopping requirements, and there's a Coop in Kingussie for essentials. Dewi's communications were perfect and he was available if needed, a great host! I can't recommend Aonach highly enough, it's a little slice of paradise!

Snowtastic, ★★★★★5/5, February 2022

Great week in a wonderful location, walking, biking and skiing on the trails.

Perfect location for relaxation and adventure, ★★★★★5/5, October 2021

The property is immaculate and a really quiet location, really well equipped and a lovely fire to relax in front of at night. We enjoyed the dark skies for star gazing and night MTB riding from the door, a red squirrel visited most days along with an abundance of bird life. Plenty of things to do from the door with rides to Inshriach Forest and Feshiebridge from the doorstep. We also went a little further afield to see the Salmon leaping at Truim Falls and walks at Loch an Eilean and Loch Garten. Communication with the hosts was great and check in seamless. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all! A.C.

Aonach, ★★★★★5/5, October 2021

Eco friendly products were a nice touch too. Couldn't fault the cottage and thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone. B.W.

A little gem, ★★★★★5/5, October 2021

Fantastic setting among the trees, ★★★★★5/5, August 2021

The property is set near woodland and fields. It’s absolutely gorgeous. So peaceful. There was so much wildlife. We had only just arrived and we saw a red squirrel! Inside the owners had left us a welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits, milk. Very thoughtful. The house itself is spacious and clean. It has everything you need and clear instructions too. We felt very at home and would love to return. Thank you for letting us stay. N.D.
